Up for grabs is one of the coolest watches I’ve had the pleasure of wearing and owning.
With sleek looks and some refined, vintage flair, this timepiece is a do it all piece that can accompany your worldly travels or office functions.
Few brands put out as many enamel dials as UN, and this one was fashioned using the Grand Feu technique.
Paired to the watch is a beautiful waxed leather strap that has patina’d beautifully over the last few years. For added benefit there is an extra brown fitted leather strap also included.
Mirror polished, the watch has incredible presence when handled and melts on to the wrist when worn. At 42mm it seems a bit larger but wears similar to a 40mm timepiece. Lug to lug is 47mm with a 13mm case height, perfect for most average sized wrists.
The dial layout lends to the charm of the watch offering both the home time and travel time systems through the dial itself as well as a date complication.
Modernity comes in on queue in terms of how the watch is operated. No push/pull crown system, but a singular button to activate the winding mechanism, or to toggle the date change or time change function, notated by the T (time) D (date) and W (winding) on the subdial.
The jump hour hand is activated by the buttons on the left side of the case for travel use. This is a true modern interpretation of a GMT watch.
Powering the watch is the UN-324 movement that yields a 48 hour power reserve and features an antimagnetic escapement and hairspring in silicon.
There are wear signs to the front and rear lugs, and some minor marks to the case/bezel, nothing egregious.
Overall a very handsome timepiece with its blued hands and painted blue Romans, with an incredible amount of wrist presence and pizazz.
The watch comes with its double box, manual extra strap and warranty card.
Retail on the watch was around $20,000 when available.
