The Chronoscope combines the best parts of a speedy with vintage cues of watches from the 40’s
The Speedmaster Chronoscope is only offered with a sapphire crystal and caseback.
The leaf-shaped hands and numerals are
blackened, with a unique “spiral” track pattern running beneath the numbers.
The dial features three distinctive timing scales printed in a 1940’s “snail” design, including a tachymeter scale, a pulsometer scale and a telemeter scale.
Powering the watch is the cal 9908 movement that features a small-seconds counter at 9, a black 60-minute and 12-hour counter at 3 with red hands.
Coming in at 43 mm, it seems slightly larger than the Speedy Pro, yet is a mm thinner at 12.8mm and a lug to lug of 48.6mm.
The bracelet is similar to that on a speedy pro with polished centre links and these come standard with the quick adjustable clasp.
The watch is in close to mint condition with 1-2 minor marks on the non crown case side.
The watch comes on both the bracelet as well as the leather strap meant for this model.
Retail is $12900 for the watch and $500 for the strap, a total $13400 value.
