Hey folks
Up for grabs is my SBGJ251 featuring a forest green kira zuri dial texture.
Similar in most regards to the fan favourite SBGM221, in this comparison, the simplistic brother; then the SBGJ251 can be considered the more sophisticated, matured and multifaceted sibling.
The Japanese culture is deeply rooted in nature as evidenced by most GS dials that feature some reflection of the four seasons or the micro seasons within them. Bestowed with minute but relevant embellishments via the dial and GMT hand, this edition of the Hi Beat GMT pays homage to Shunbun, the arrival of the spring equinox and dissipation of winter; enter the forest green dial and rose toned GMT script and GMT hand.
Similar to the SBGM221, this piece measures in at 39.5mm, with a 46.9mm lug to lug and a 14mm thickness.
Unlike the 221, this model features the 5 link GS bracelet.
Powering the watch is the 9S86 Hi Beat 36,000 VPH movement. Hi beat movements are rarely known for their accuracy, though this one is running well within spec at -6s/day
Overall, the watch is in excellent condition, with the only signs of wear being superficial hairlines to the brushing on 2-3 links.
The watch is about 4 months old and retains the balance of the 5 year warranty and comes as a full set with sleeve, double box, warranty card, rice paper, pouch, certificate, hang tag, extra links and manual
Retail on this is $9900, while the 221 retails at $6700 + tax
I’m asking a shade higher than what the 221 sells for sans bracelet, at $5950 shipped from the GTA
