THE SELLER
If you are here reading this, then you’re probably active enough in the watch community to have heard the phrase, “buy the seller”. Thus, it seems fitting to start here with a small introduction.
I guess I would refer to myself as a collector and enthusiast. I got into watches, in a big way, 6 years ago. Since then I’ve learned a great deal. I’ve watched countless YouTube videos, spent hours on forums, and visited untold number of AD’s and boutiques around the world. I’ve been to live watch events and talked at length with other fellow community members. I’ve had the privilege of experiencing hundreds of watches first-hand, across many types, brands, and price points.
Throughout this journey, I have purchased nearly 120 watches for my collection, selling more than 80 of these watches on to new homes. Being party to over 200 watch transactions, I think it is fair to say I’ve got some experience. I try to sell watches the way I would like other sellers to do when I am the buyer. I try to make sure that the pictures I provide are above-average, thereby allowing one to get a good look at the cosmetic condition. If I know there are flaws beyond very light normal wear, I will disclose it. If I know of mechanical issues, I will disclose it. Nearing 100 sales, I have yet to hear from anyone who was disappointed with the watch they received.
As a result of this selling approach, I have earned perfect feedback on eBay and on Watchuseek, now starting to sell on CanWatchCo as well. Until Chrono24 implements feedback for private sellers, you will have to take my word for it, but there are dozens of happy buyers there too.
THE WATCH
Sinn U2 White EZM5 (Limited to 150 Pieces)
I purchased this watch in 2022 from Watchbox in the U.S. It was produced in 2020 with a worldwide limited run of 150 pieces. Of these, 100 were allocated to the North American market, and 50 to Japan.
I am selling all 3 of my Sinn watches right now and this is one of the three. I still love the technical aspects of the brand, but I find that the style just doesn’t resonate with me the way it used to. Try as I might, I’m just not a bracelet guy. The Sinn really does work best on the bracelets, so… these watches just don’t get the wrist time they deserve.
Comes full set, box and papers.
Condition
The watch condition is as good as the day it was made. Seriously, fully tegimented submarine steel, I cannot imagine how you COULD damage one of these things. I think the entire watch comes in at 2,000 vickers, so it is more likely to destroy whatever it comes in contact with, than to pick up any scratches on itself.
Currently running about 2 seconds fast per 24-hour period.
My Impressions
It is a marvel of modern engineering. As stated above, virtually indestructible with a depth rating more likely to end the wearer than the watch. The black and white is a very unique look, especially relative to most of the other Sinn watches. I seriously go back and forth on whether or not I should keep this watch. If you love Sinn, this is a must-have for your collection.
