Hi folks
Up for grabs is my 30th Anniversary Chronomat 44 Airborne.
If the Navitimer is the svelte smooth operator, the Chronomat is essentially the badass throw down, beat-you-up-before-asking-questions, kinda watch.
Every bit as functional as a Navitimer, but built with more ruggedness, toughness and heat, that’s what differentiates the Chronomat.
This special edition, is in overall very good used condition but has signs of pre love on case and bracelet; nothing groundbreaking or serious but there’s scratches on both and some dulling of the polish to the case over the years. I can recommend someone in the GTA for a fantastic professional level polish if so desired, or a cape cod polish could suffice as well.
The watch measures 44mm x 54mm x17mm with a 22mm lug width.
Despite the dimensions the lugs downturn quite sharply and as such wears quite well on my 7.3” wrist, though I would recommend a wrist of at least 6.75” to pull this off well.
The fauxtina, while a love-it-or-hate-it features is an apropos for the timepiece.
The bezel action on this piece is quite special and features a 120 click bezel, making it suitable as a diver as well as a pilots watch thanks to screw down pushers and crown.
This model also features the Breitling wings logo, a fan favourite.
The red chronograph hand adds a pop of colour and provides a more aeronautical feel.
Powering the watch is of course the B01 movement with a 70 hour power reserve featuring a vertical clutch and column wheel yielding a beautiful +11s/day accuracy with no known service history .
If you’re a Breitling/aviator/fan of beefy watches, this is the watch for you.
It’s overbuilt to the point of being a tank and during my ownership has received far more compliments than any other watch I’ve owned.
The watch comes as a full set with warranty card, model card, manual, COSC Certificate, extra link and double box.
Currently sized for my 7.3” wrist, the extra link should add another .5” inch along with the additional micro adjustments taking this up to 8” approx.
Retail when available was well over 10k.
I’m asking $4650 shipped in the GTA
