Hey folks
Up for grabs is a rarely seen timepiece and even rarer still, in this minty condition.
The watch comes in at a hefty 46mm x 16.8mm x 55mm.
For the purists who enjoyed the Big Pilot of years past, this will be a watch that comes full circle as it does what no other can.
Inspiringly easy to use and with a great degree of thought, this is one of the only timepieces that allows the bezel to engage the movement i.e. you set the respective timezone you’re in via use of the bezel, with the triangle at 12 pointing to the the associated timezone. If daylight savings time is in effect, you would rotate the bezel one position farther until the city’s accompanying dot with the letter “S” (“summer”) is in the 12 o’clock position.
All of this is rather intuitive; if you travel east, you turn the bezel clockwise, counterclockwise if you travel west.
This tech was purchased by IWC from Vogard owner Michael Vogt, and further improved on its usability.
If that weren’t enough, the watch also features a 24 hour timescale so you know if you’re in AM/PM.
Furthermore, you get a chronograph with fly back function, for accuracy purposes.
Powering the watch is the in house cal 89760 with a 68 hour power reserve
The watch features a 60m water resistance with a screw down crown.
The watch is a full kit with box and papers and warranty until 2027
Retail was a staggering 17,200 + tax when available.
I’m asking $9750 in the GTA, the cheapest I’ve ever seen this by over $1200
