Hey folks,
Up for your consideration I have one of the most recent reiterations of the darling from the Grand Seiko Elegance lineup, the SBGW285
With a green dial that is inspired by the micro season “Byoka” which is the transition from summer to autumn, it’s perfectly paired for our fall season and one of my favourite instrumentals from Yanni “The End of August” (I recommend the soundtrack while viewing this thread as I listened to it while I wrote this out)
While this time teller might lack ruggedness, it makes up for the same in sophistication, delicacy and panache.
Coming in at a diminutive 37.5mm, it steals the show when on wrist as it oozes class, novelty and beauty in simplicity.
For those averse to a green dial, rest assured, the green is only visible is natural light and at intentional angles.
For the most part, the dial appears black.
Not very many watches can do so much, while doing so little, yet Grand Seiko proves themselves masters at restraint and exuberance.
A full kit dated 2022 from a Canadian AD, this can be your one and done dress watch.
As with most GS, pictures don’t do this piece justice; it needs to be seen to be appreciated and I’m sure the right aficionado will appreciate that fact.
I’m letting this go at a very accessible $4848 f2 in the GTA
