Hey folks
Up for grabs is a watch that weaselled its way into becoming one of my top 5 chronographs.
The 417 ES is likely the most iconic watch that Hanhart makes, made famous by the King of Cool himself; in fact the closest example the one he wore most frequently is this one, save for the HyCeramic red pusher.
This is likely one of the few watches I have desperately wanted to try and it did not disappoint.
Up there with my favourite chronograph (Longines Avigation) around 3k, this 417 lives up to all of its hype.: the fit, the form factor, the execution, the detailing - it’s all very German, precise.
In spite of its simplicity with the black dial and high contrast white hands and markers, the minor sprinkles of red add just the right level of intrigue
The rotating coin edged bezel is likely the biggest factor in what makes this watch as vintage cool as it is, since only a handful of brands don utilize this feature.
The slivers of polished chamfers on the lugs highlight the watches chiseled good looks with the exhibition case back revealing the nicely finished AMT5100-M movement.
These movements are crafted by AMT Sa, a special division within Sellita that handles higher end / custom movements and as such for a manually wound chronograph, you’re receiving a 58 hour power reserve and Flyback function.
The watch measures 42mm x 49.5mm x 13.7mm and wears like a dream on my 7.3” wrist, owed in no small part to the Bund strap.
Overall condition is excellent with the faintest scratches present on two or three lugs near the bezel.
These movements watch comes as a full set including the original box, warranty card, leather roll, cloth and booklet .
Retail would run $4500+ before taxes and duties for this consistently sold out variant.
I’m asking $3350 shipped from the GTA
