Bulova Accutron from the late '70s. Tuning fork! Brand new battery. Watch checked over by my watchmaker (Bob Thompson's Jewellers in Ottawa).

I acquired it a two weeks ago. It's been keeping perfect time for the last two weeks since the battery change. The seconds hand moves in the sweeping motion of Accutron and you hear the trademark faint humming noise when you hold it next to your ear or put it down on a hard surface. My watchmaker says this would be the last generation of tuning forks from Bulova from that period.

This was a Sealtest company gift watch and bears the logo with three small stones. They could well be genuine rubies but don't know for sure. There used to be a Sealtest plant in Ottawa. So, would have been given to a local deserving employee.

Caseback shows what could be the model number "N7". On chrono24 there are N1s, N2s, N4s,... but no N7s. Prices vary significantly but can reach well above $1k for pristine examples.

The spring bracelet is very comfortable and a little loose on my 6.75" wrist. It's a light watch and would likely be comfortable on larger wrists.

I'd put the case size at 34-36mm. Its angular shape gives it a nice wrist presence. The gold finish is still in pretty good shape.

Its hard to put a value on this watch.

But based on similar period watches on chrono24, the condition and that it was a company gift with a cool logo on the bracelet I'll offer this pieces for $300. Comes as watch only.20240715_174819.jpg20240715_174913.jpg
