This model is a 2002 production, celebrating the 50-year history of the Navitimer between 1952 and 2002. The steel on this model came completely brushed from the factory across the entire case and bracelet; there are no shiny or blingy parts. This distinguishes if from its high-polished cousins and makes it somewhat more of a ‘tool’ watch. Other distinguishing elements are the twin-jet Breitling logo, the red anniversary badging above the six o’clock subdial and the commemorative case-back.
Winds, sets, and re-sets flawlessly. Will easily fit up to an 8+ inch wrist with its two removed links and the micro-adjust clasp. Currently sized for my 6.75” wrist, but that’s on the smallest micro-adjust position. I figure it could readily fit a 7” to 7.25” wrist without adding the removed links, by simply moving the micro-adjust pin to its largest position.
Service history unknown, but timekeeping accuracy is good. No box (pictured box not included), no papers, no warranty – just the watch. Would rate the cosmetic condition conservatively at 8.5/10, to account for some minor surface scratches or tiny dings which, at least to my eyes, are visible only on very close inspection and not at all on the wrist. Luminous markers and hand inserts still glow when activitated by a direct light source.
If interested in this piece, consider first pricing this model on Chrono24.ca, eBay or elsewhere. And keep in mind, if importing, expect to be paying duties, tax and a hefty exchange rate on top of a likely higher ask than mine. While you’re at it, have look at Breitling’s website for the Canadian prices for current Navitimers, which I was told by Breitling will be increasing in the New Year.
