Up for sale is my Girard Perregaux SeaHawk 2 Ref: 4990
Below is a detailed account of this watch but if you have further questions then I am happy to answer.
The watch was fully serviced by GP in 2020. Where it also received new hands, polish and a new dial.
When I purchased the watch last year, the feel of the winding was a bit different than I expected, for this reason I called GP directly and they confirmed all the details of the watch, the service and the work performed. To be completely certain beyond any doubt, I took this to a local (Rolex certified) watchmaker who opened the watch up and confirmed that all is well – its just the way the movement is – he gave me an explanation about the reversing wheel but given my lack of experience on this topic, I forgot this explanation about 15 seconds later. He then pressure tested it and gave it back to me. I did manage to take a picture of the movement which is attached.
The previous owner had purchased this from a large dealer in Greece. It came on an aftermarket strap which he discarded, though this watch comes originally on a rubber strap, he instead bought an OEM bracelet – at $2,500 I was told. The dial was originally white, but he opted to have an OEM black dial installed instead – if you have seen the white dial in this watch, you would agree that the black dial is far more dynamic with its light play. Wish I could represent the brilliance of the dial and hands in pictures but reflection off them make them nearly impossible to capture with an iPhone camera – that pleasure is reserved for the eventual owner of this watch.
The watch comes with the following:
Trades are welcome on this but I am particularly interested in Cartier Santos Large – white dial only, Panerai Radiomir models, previous generation Breitling Chronomat, Longines Zulu Diver GMT or an Aqua Terra GMT.
Priced at $4,250. F2F in Ottawa or shipping available via Flagship.

The watch comes with the following:
- Outer box
- Inner wooden box, while the wood is high quality and looks fantastic the inner lining has seen better days – think omega red boxes.
- Service papers from GP.
- Itemized invoice for service and replacement dial/hands.
- No Warranty card, but invoice from last purchase receipt from dealer as well as the certificate of authenticity is included
- Full link bracelet, which will fit over an 8” wrist. Currently sized for 8” and one half link is in the box. A bracelet that needs to be worn in person to appreciate the quality or what GP can accomplish.
