Newcomer in Nova Scotia

Hey everyone!

I'm not just a newcomer in this forum, but also to Canada. I moved with my family to Nova Scotia in 2022 from Michigan.

I've been interested in mechanical watches for about 10 years, owning some Seikos and Citizens, but have recently been looking to pick up the hobby again.

I have a decent fountain pen collection as well, but find less and less opportunities to use them. Shifting to watches seemed like the logical choice!

Welcome to Canadia, and to the forum! By now you'll have noticed that we don't all sucker-punch musk-oxen for sport on weekends nor live in igloos- despite our best efforts to perpetuate those shibboleths. (We do have a member in Calgary who wears nothing but horseblanket shirts, though. I think he's a district manager for Canadian Tire. Machts nichts. He's our style icon.)

Fountain pens are fun for writing cheques. To cover the balances owing on your tax returns, for example. I'd hang onto them.

We definitely speak Seiko, Citizen, and Mechanical Watch here. Pull up a chair by the woodstove. It's made of real wood.
