Panerai PAM 249 Radiomir, California Dial 1936 Historic Special Collector Edition 47 mm - Canadian Watch, bought from an AD in Montreal.

In Collector's Edition complete set!!! Triple Boxed, Warranty Card stamped by the Montreal AD, tags, extra plexi, stickers all Papers!

The watch was worn only a few times (got 6" wrist, too big for my wrist), watch 98%, strap 99%, plexi 100%. The watch is like new, no dings, no scratches, never polished.

Mod erase this if it's inappropriate in a sale thread, but I've never seen a dial that's half Roman, half Arabic. There must be a story behind it?

It is said that research showed the watch easier to read at a glance underwater, at least according to the Italian Navy 60 or 70 years ago.

The "California" designation for this dial comes from a watch restorer in California that was redoing old Rolex watches with this half Arabic, half Roman motif. It began to be know as the California dial.

So the legend goes...
