Due to unforeseen circumstances, I’ve decided to sell a piece in my collection I said I likely would never sell. The Grand Seiko Limited Edition SBGH269 better known to GS fans as The Momiji.
Measuring 39.5mm and 13mm thick, the steel case houses Grand Seiko’s 9S85 Hi-Beat, in house movement with a power reserve of 55 hours.
The bright green skeletonize titanium rotor is beautiful and is meant to invoke the colour of leaves before they turn red. Speaking of red, the dial is inspired by the colour of the Japanese woods in Autumn. The pattern of the dial is inspired by the traditional lacquered floor of japanese houses. Pictures do not do it Justice. The seconds hand and logo are gold coloured and create a wonderful contrast to the dial. And not to forget the beautiful finishing that Grand seiko is known for. You will need a loupe to truly appreciate the craftsmanship
Condition is excellent. It has been worn therefore shows light signs of wear, such as light dust scratches, but no dings or dents to report. It was taken care of as best as possible but was worn fairly frequently when I first received it. 100% unpolished as I’m the sole owner. Time keeping well within spec (-3/+5 a day) Purchased it from a local AD December 2019. Balance of GS warranty remains.
Long sold out and is highly sought of by GS fans alike. Rare opportunity to own a long discontinued watch. Full kit, box and papers included. Asking $10,200 shipped anywhere in Canada.
