Sold Zenith El Primero “Vintage 1969” Chronograph 03.1969.401 - Watch Only

Up today I have a rather uncommon Zenith for the group.

In doing my research I can confirm that while this has “vintage” in the model name, it is most definitely not a vintage watch and houses the 469 El Primero caliber which is a 36,000 VPH movement and what is essentially the renamed 400z caliber.

The watch has definite signs of wear and is not minty by any standard, which I find lends to a bit of its charm.

At 40mm it is very wearable on a wrist as small as 6.75” despite its rectangular type case that is reminiscent of the A384 Revival.

The watch runs, winds, sets and date changes like it should, with the caveat that the 6 o’clock elapsed hour sub counter every now and then requires a second push of the bottom pusher to reset, which leads me to a suggestion that a service might be due soon given the readout on my timegrapher indicates that despite running at +2/3s a day, the amplitude is 255.

All in all, this is rather robust daily/modern day zenith with an el Primero movement, at what can be considered an entry level luxury price point of $4150 shipped (this accounts for a future service as well)
